This is my favorite pic from the past week. It's been a very busy week, full of house-hunting, and friends, and cousins, but this is the best one.
"Ah, yes!" you say to yourself. "A cute daddy-daughter picture. Of COURSE she would pick that as the best from the week!" Dear reader, I'll let you in on a little secret. The reason this is the best shot from the week is...Little Miss is about .2 seconds away from rejecting the entire contents of a 4 oz bottle all over her doting father.
That's apparently our daughter's pre-spit up face. Note to self: Memorize this!
(Plus, isn't her hat adorable? It's made for toddlers. She has a huge head!)

Memorable Moments
I'm going to try and use this thing more often. I know I keep saying that, but I've been reflecting on how nice it will be to look back at this when Cora is a big kid! I think the hardest part of writing a blog is the constant reminder in the back of your mind that there is an audience. While I'm sure there aren't a ton of people reading this, and they're people with whom I want to share my thoughts and updates on Little Miss, it's definitely writing for others as well as for myself. When I was in Cameroon, there was so much to process that really the only way to remember everything was through blogging. People often remind me of things they read on my blog, particularly my mishap with the lizard, (which really is something I'd often rather forget!)
That being said, at the very least I'm going to try and post some "memorable moments" every week so that I sort of force myself to blog until it becomes a habit. They don't have to be anything too long, just a picture and a little story of something cute that Babycakes did. She's pretty cute, it should be easy. I considered doing it on Mondays and naming it "Memorable Moment Mondays", but let's face it, I would NOT remember to do that. This will probably be contingent on nap times and the state of our apartment, but that's ok! So here's my first "memorable moments" post:
This winter has been pretty brutal and it's giving us cabin fever. I'm pretty sure it has snowed at least twice a week since the end of December. I hated driving in the snow before I had precious cargo in tow, needless to say it's gotten even more undesirable. Being house-bound with a 6 month old, and by house-bound I mean 2-bedroom-apartment-bound, is less than ideal. I cannot tell you how many times we've cycled through "activity mat, read a book, tickle fights, not tired enough for a nap, exersaucer". Too many, that's the only quantity that comes to mind.
We're suffering from cabin fever over here! While I try to get out with her as much as possible, there are only so many trips to Target, only so many classes geared toward infants that we can attend. Astoundingly, Cora has managed to mostly avoid the snow. It probably has something to do with the two big people who are willing to shuttle her in and out of the car to her various activities. Today, that changed. Stuck inside from yet another winter weather advisory I decided to strap Cora into her snowsuit and take her out back to understand what it really means to live in Wisconsin.
This was her face pretty much the whole time:

Coraline, darling, if it were up to me we would live in a magical place where it only snows for a week at the end of December and then warms up again. (I'm open to suggestions!)

Wazzzzzuppppppppppp????
This throwback to the 90s (for some reason in my head said in my dad's voice) is my way of informing you that I'm going to actually update this thing! I swear! There is a LOT going on in the Robbins nest right now, all fantastic and fun for the whole family, but boy does it leave me beat by the end of the day.
To start things off....Little C will be 6 months old on Saturday! (More importantly, I'll be 24.5 years old) Here's a break down on what she's up to these days:
We're having lots of fun with her! Of course, her feet are never far away from her hands. We're still working on tummy time, but I think she can do everything and just chooses not to. (Remind you of anyone?) She loves to screech constantly. This morning around 4:30 she woke up and I tried to put her back down after a diaper change only to be serenaded by the sounds of "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! ppbbbbbtttttttt.....WAH-oh WAH-oh WAH-oh! pbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbttttttttttt" coming from the crib for about 15 minutes. We also go to music class at the Jewish preschool, so I think she must now be an aspiring musician constantly in the midst of a vocal warm-up.
My family came up to visit a few weeks ago and C had a lot of fun hanging out with the Potatoes gang. We ate tacos and played a sweet board game that my brother bought us. Overall, a great time was had by all!

Another reason that we've been pretty busy is that we're starting the house-hunting process! I am beyond excited to get out of this apartment (not that it hasn't served us well) and into our own space. Last weekend we went to a few open houses and found a couple of neighborhoods that we like. It's really fun to picture Little Miss running around the house when she's a little older. We'll probably be moving sometime in May or June, so stay tuned for that!
Here are just a couple more pictures from the past month or so:
